Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan

While we have a fantastic collection here at the Ramara Public Library, from time to time we might not own the items you are looking for. We may still be able to help you find these items through our Interlibrary Loan Service (ILLO).

Using Interlibrary Loan

  • Requests can take 1-4 weeks to fill, depending on item availability.

  • Loan periods and renewals are determined by the lending library.

  • We can't guarantee an item will be available by a certain date.

  • Only materials published for at least one year can be requested.

  • To process your request, your library card must be current and in good standing (i.e. no outstanding charges or overdue materials). We will notify you when the item arrives. Patrons may only receive 5 items per month. Items that are ordered and not picked up will result in a $5.00 fine on your card.

  • The first thing to do is to make sure that we don't already have the item you want to bring in. To determine whether we already own the title, please search our online catalogue. Once you are sure that the Ramara Public Library does not own the title, you may request it through Interlibrary Loan service by contacting your library.

Materials available through ILLO include:

  • Books (regular and large print)

  • CD audiobooks and Playaways

  • DVDs and Blu-Rays

Note: If an item was published less than one year ago and it is not in our collection, please submit a purchase request for consideration.

Ordering

There are several ways to order Interlibrary Loan  material:

  • In-person at any branch

  • email info@ramarapubliclibrary.org

  • call (705) 325-5776

  • Patron-initiated interlibrary loan (order yourself, please contact staff to be set up for this service)

Renewals and Cancellations

You cannot cancel or renew a request online. If you wish to cancel your Interlibrary Loan request, you must do so before the lending library replies with a Shipped Status. Please contact the library at 705-325-5776 or info@ramarapubliclibrary.org.

Lost or Damaged Items

Lost or damaged fees are determined by the lending library.
