Employment Resource Services:
The Orillia Employment Resource Centre offers a self-help centre where
individuals can come to perform their job searches and receive confidential,
one-on-one employment and career planning assistance. Individuals who
live outside Orillia, and who may have transportation issues, will now
have the opportunity to receive the same type of assistance in their
job search. These services will be offered to residents of the Brechin
area at the Brechin branch every Wednesday from 10:00—1:00 p.m.
starting September 13th until June 2007.
This project is funded by the Government of Canada.
Library Pedometer Lending Program:
Pedometer Lending
@
your library®
Libraries are
offering “step-counting pedometer packs” for loan, the same way you
would borrow a book. The easy-to-use pedometer comes with
a personalized 10,000 Steps tracking booklet for the user to record
their progress over a 12-week period.
Pedometers
are a great tool to track your progress each time you walk and to set
goals to increase your physical activity. Working towards the goal of
10,000 steps per day is considered a guideline for the amount of adult
walking needed for a healthy, active lifestyle.
For more
information, please ask the library staff.
“We’d be
happy to help you!”
