HELP WITH ONLINE CATALOGUE


You may browse and search our catalogue without signing in with your Library Card Number*, but if wish to check your loans, reserve or hold items, or use other new features, you must Login.

For NEW and EXISTING Patrons
Changing Your Online Catalogue & Wireless Password

If you are a new patron to the library you will be given a generic PIN # to access either our new online catalogue and/or the wireless service.  Due to the change in our cataloguing system, patrons who wish to go online will need to change their passwords to reserve items, browse the catalogue, etc. In addition, if you wish to use our wireless service, you will have to go online to change your PIN #.

Please follow the instructions below to change your password via the library’s website:

  1. www.ramarapubliclibrary.org
  1. Click on “Online Catalogue”
  1. Click on “Continue to Ramara Library Online Catalogue”
  1. You will be taken to the Horizon Information Portal page, where you will click on the “My Account Tab”
  1. Type in your barcode # (located on the back of your library card)
  1. Type in the generic PIN # that you have obtained from the library (in person, via email at info@ramarapubliclibrary.org or by phone 325-5776 or 484-0476)
  1. Click on the “Profile” (below “My Account” tab)
  1. Scroll down to view all of your information and when you get to the section for “Personal Identification Number (PIN)”, click on:
    1. Old PIN, and type in generic PIN #
    2. New PIN, type in new PIN #, remembering that it is to be only 4 digits
    3. Re-enter New PIN, type in your new PIN # again
    4. Click on “Update”
    5. You will need to exit the Online Catalogue to ensure that your changes have been made and login again using your new PIN # if you wish to browse the collection and/or to place holds/reserves.

*Note: old library cards with the red logo that have a P at the beginning of the barcode do not work in this new system. Please come to the library to obtain a new card.
